HUD will provide Housing Assistance Payments on behalf of eligible lower
income persons or couples defined above. This payment will make up the
difference between the approved "market rent" for the unit and the
amount the family is required to pay.
"Eligible residents will pay not less than $25 per month nor more than
30% of adjusted income."
EXAMPLE: If your monthly income is $300.00, 30%=$90.00 -- Your share of
the rent. HUD pays the balance of the rent to the Management.
You DO NOT pay the utilities; heat, lights, water, and garbage are
furnished with the apartment.
Telephone and television service will be paid by you.
Owners must now ask applicants, in writing, as to whether they have
transferred property or assets to family or other persons within the
last two years. If this has been done, the owner must have a) a date
assets were disposed of, b) amount of money received for property
disposed of, and c) market value of any property or assets at time of
disposition.
All prospective residents must be screened prior to acceptance as to
personal character, ability to care for themselves, their
compatibility
with other people, and their willingness and ability to pay their
personal obligations promptly.
